Datsun Brand

Datsun is a brand under Nissan’s patronage. First cars under this badge appeared in the early 1930’s, way before the WW2. All passenger cars from Nissan shared this name in the beginning. When the company started to export its models, “Datsun” was in use for North America and some other parts of the world, while Japanese models carried Nissan badge. This lasted until 1986 when Datsun brand was discontinued. After few decades, the brand has been re-established; however, it is not available in the U.S. and similar markets.

Datsun 280Z: About the Model

One of the most recognizable Datsun automobiles is a legendary 280Z model, which was in production in the 70’s and 80’s. It is actually the second generation of the legendary Z series, known by its characteristic appearance. During its production, it used several engines. Still, the most famous are the cars with 2.8-liter inline-six engines. There were two variants in the offer: naturally aspirated and with a turbocharger. The first one is good for about 150 horsepower, while the second one – up to 180. Both versions would be good for a stance.

Can you have Datsun 280Z Stanced?

Generally, Datsun 280Z stance is a good idea. Like any other automobile from the 70’s, the styling of Datsun must be similar to what you have imagined. The original models usually carried 14- or 15-inch wheels, so you would probably have to stick to this diameter, although slightly bigger sixteens would fit as well. When it comes to width, stock rims are good for 6.5 inches. For the stanced Datsun 280Z, you can go for 9.5 at the front and full 10 inches at the rear axle. Adding some modern suspension would not only lower this classic sports car but also significantly improve driving dynamics. Datsun 280Z could be a great challenge for a real car enthusiast.
